Active Corporation produces portable medical devices used "when life is on the line™." We were founded in 1999 and are a small, privately held organization. Our small size allows us to meet the needs of this highly competitive market in unique and creative ways. Our products are the best in the world at the most affordable price possible.
Every employee of Active is a currently licensed and practicing EMT in the local volunteer ambulance squad. It is important to us that our emergency medical skills go beyond theoretical knowledge. We are familiar with the technologies and products available today and use them in real-life patient emergencies. We believe that our products bring these experiences to the market in ways that no other company can match.
Our People
The principals of Active have spent their professional careers working together creating medical devices. Prior to Active, our principals founded Evergreen Technologies, Inc., a company that developed and marketed software solutions for the medical market, specializing in low-cost, high-tech imaging and analysis products for radiology and nuclear medicine. Evergreen received the first FDA CDRH 510(k) clearance for a software-only device, as well as seven other 510(k) clearances for software products. The technology utilized in Evergreen's innovative products is now owned by McKesson HBOC.
Our Roots
Active is located in the small coastal village of Castine, Maine, a close-knit community filled with 150 year-old homes, elm-lined streets, and church steeples that reach into the sky. Winters are cold and bright with excellent winter sports, and summers are warm and clear with some of the best boating and sailing on the East Coast. It's a place where honesty and character are still important. We think that being based in a place like this says as much about Active Corporation as any business strategy, model, or product ever could.
